Vantage Education Partners are working in partnership with an OFSTED Outstanding Secondary School in East London to recruit a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their highly successful SEND provision. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students both within mainstream classrooms and within a specialist ASD provision, helping young people to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. The school is looking for a reliable, empathetic and proactive individual who is committed to making a positive impact on students with additional needs.

The Role

  • Supporting students in mainstream lessons and small group interventions
  • Working closely with teachers and SEND staff to deliver personalised support
  • Promoting student confidence, independence and engagement in learning
  • Supporting students with SEND, including autism and communication needs
  • Assisting with classroom preparation, displays and learning resources
  • Supporting positive behaviour and inclusion across the school environment
  • Working collaboratively with staff, families and external professionals where required

The role offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience within an Outstanding school environment and would suit both experienced Teaching Assistants and recent graduates considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology or SEND support.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Hold NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • Have GCSE Grade C/Level 2 or above in English, Maths and Science
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Show patience, flexibility and a nurturing approach to supporting young people

Experience supporting students with SEND, autism or English as an Additional Language (EAL) would be highly desirable, although not essential.
