Vantage Education Partners are working in partnership with an OFSTED Outstanding Secondary School and Sixth Form in East London to recruit an inspiring and academically accomplished Artist in Residence for September 2026. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate artist and educator to join a thriving Arts faculty with an exceptional reputation for creative excellence.
The successful candidate will support highly ambitious Sixth Form students studying Fine Art alongside a range of academic A Levels, helping them to develop their artistic practice through studio work, critique, enrichment and portfolio development. The school places a strong emphasis on the Arts across the curriculum and offers a wide range of creative qualifications at GCSE, BTEC and A Level. Students benefit from outstanding specialist facilities including professional studio spaces, a dedicated gallery area and opportunities to collaborate with practising artists and creative organisations.
The Role
- Teach Fine Art up to A Level
- Support and stretch highly able students to achieve top grades and secure places at leading universities
- Lead enrichment opportunities including exhibitions, gallery visits and workshops
- Work collaboratively with staff to share creative practice and curriculum innovation
- Contribute to the continued development of an outstanding Arts provision
A reduced teaching timetable is offered to allow additional time for subject development, mentoring and artistic collaboration.
The Ideal Candidate
- Hold a degree and strong postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field
- Have excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Fine Art
- Be confident teaching or supporting Fine Art up to A Level standard
- Demonstrate the ability to inspire and motivate young people
- Be collaborative, reflective and committed to creative education
A formal teaching qualification is not essential; however, experience working with young people and a passion for education are highly desirable. This opportunity would suit an established artist, practising creative professional or experienced Art educator seeking a rewarding role within a high-performing school environment.
