Site Operations Department: The Site Operations Department is responsible for the overall health of all mechanical and electrical systems, building maintenance, and performance of all data modules in our data centers. The team is staffed 24 x 7 onsite with Critical Facilities Engineers (CFEs) working on shift and reporting to a Chief Engineer. This team is the face of Vantage to our customers and the guarantee of business continuity and excellence of Operations of our campus as well as the performance of our customer installations. Using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan and track maintenance activities, the Site Operations Department is responsible for all preventative and corrective maintenance.
Position Overview: The successful candidate for this Critical Facilities Technician role knows what best-in-class data center service looks like and can make that a reality. This role is an important member of our Operations team where we manage some of the most efficient and cost-effective data center facilities in the industry. Persons in this role will work with a team of other electrical and mechanical-focused engineers performing maintenance and repair for our data center infrastructure. We take our customer requirements for uptime seriously and keep our facilities maintained to a very high standard to ensure uninterrupted service for our customers.

Essential Job Functions:
- Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facility systems. Areas include: Electrical, mechanical, building monitoring, and control.
- Ensure the completion of maintenance activities to a high quality level of planning, preparation, execution, and reporting.
- Ensure the full reliability of the infrastructures with a focus on continuity of services and energy efficiency.
- Use the Building Management System (BMS) and all available systems to monitor the site including regular walkthroughs verifying the good working condition.
Duties:
- Work in shifts per assigned shift pattern and wear personal protective equipment depending on the work to be performed.
- Within applicable interventions according to local regulation and up-to-date certifications, be capable of manipulating/activating certain electrical, mechanical, and security infrastructures for protecting people and property and/or maintaining service continuity.
- Use of the Building Management System (BMS) and regular onsite checks.
- With assistance from IT and Controls departments, ensure proper operation of the site BMS.
- In collaboration with contractors, participate in drafting the preventive maintenance schedule for site infrastructures and implement it with service providers; monitor operations with risk minimization during interventions and ensure reporting.
- Operational management of suppliers and service providers to document and plan preventive maintenance and/or repair activities using a CMMS and Change Management Process.
- Monitor the work of vendors with focus on minimizing risks during interventions, ensuring cleanliness standards and reporting the activity.
- Perform repair and maintenance activities as required.
- Implementation of improvement plans and small projects.
- Participate in the site-specific crisis management plan and related tests and exercises.
- Participate in regular site audits and reviews to assess service continuity and analyze risks.
Job Requirements:
- Technical education (advanced technician or engineer level) in one of the following areas: Electricity (generators, UPS, low voltage distribution), climate, and cooling.
- Experience in operating data centers or similar environments.
- Versatile technical knowledge, especially in operation, maintenance, and inspection of critical systems.
- English and Polish languages – The minimum level required is B1 (intermediate, able to understand and communicate about familiar topics and handle most everyday situations independently).
- Knowledge of fire protection and physical security (access control, video, and intrusion detection systems) or central building management systems is advantageous.
- Good communication skills with third parties and internal customers.
- Highly motivated at problem-solving.
- Attention to detail and a genuine commitment to following up on actions.
- Good writing skills.
- Everyday use of standard office equipment.
- Demonstrated skills in the use of software, such as BMS, CMMS.
Physical Activities And Requirements:
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like.
- Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.
- Raised floor work. Must be able to maneuver and work underneath and around raised floor of varying heights.
