Design Programme Office (DPO)
As an integral part of the EMEA CTO organisation, the Design Programme Office drives standardisation, continuous improvement and scalable delivery governance across the EMEA portfolio. The team provides programme-level leadership across product definition, design execution support, vendor performance management, OFCI programme management, and the systems and tools that enable consistent delivery outcomes.
Position Overview
The Principal Digital Information Programme Manager is the dedicated digital information management specialist within the EMEA region. The role owns the regional digital information standards and tooling, with accountability for the implementation and governance of the common data environment (currently Autodesk Forma), design review processes and tools, and the integration of digital information requirements into project and product delivery. The role provides cross-functional coordination between the Design Programme Office, Design Management, Mission Critical Engineering, Product deployment, Project Controls, Delivery, Procurement and external design consultants to ensure consistent, data-driven project outcomes across the portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Develop, document and maintain effective digital information management practices spanning the project delivery lifecycle, information requirements, delivery plans, and asset data deliverables (including COBie or similar where applicable).
- Own the implementation, configuration and governance of Autodesk Construction Cloud/ Forma (ACC Docs and ACC Build) as the common data environment for EMEA projects.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of digital information management systems, processes and tools across the EMEA portfolio identifying high-impact areas for improvement across the digital information programme.
- Define and govern digital information requirements that support lifecycle data quality, interoperability, operational readiness and structured digital delivery assurance across the portfolio.
- Ensure the delivered information ecosystem is fit for lifecycle use, with clear standards for information governance, asset intelligence readiness and continuity from design through operations.
- Own and enhance the EMEA Design Review process and tools for comprehensive digital information quality across multiple formats, phases and platforms, culminating in model-based review workflows within the CDE.
- Ensure clear scope and requirement definition for digital information across projects, playing a key role in project initiation and the onboarding of design consultants to VDC digital information expectations.
- Provide proactive digital information management and integration with project teams, ensuring qualified project personnel are equipped and accountable for digital information delivery on their respective projects.
- Review lease BIM documentation for compliance with digital information requirements and support the integration of value engineering inputs where they affect digital information scope.
- Maintain version control and change history for EMEA product documents, ensuring approved content is current, traceable and aligned to the defined product baseline.
- Coordinate document updates and release communications with Global Product and Regional Product deployment leads, ensuring regional deviations, approvals and effective dates are clearly captured.
- Define and support the integration of BIM and common data environment workflows with operational platforms, including DCIM, BMS, CMMS, commissioning and asset management systems, to enable effective lifecycle data use.
- Support structured asset traceability across design, manufacture, construction and operations, including serialised asset information and governance aligned with DfMA and industrialised delivery objectives.
- Serve as the EMEA regional advocate for digital information management, leading training and onboarding initiatives for internal teams and external design consultants.
- Liaise with NA, APAC and Global digital information management teams to leverage best practices and promote alignment where relevant, maintaining the cross-regional coordination role formerly held with the Global Centre of Excellence.
- Maintain dashboards and structured narratives to support portfolio visibility and timely intervention on digital information performance.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, information management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 7+ years' experience in digital information management, BIM leadership, or design/construction information systems within data centre or mission-critical infrastructure sectors.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and governing common data environments, particularly Autodesk Construction Cloud/ Forma (Docs and Build) or equivalent platforms.
- Strong understanding of ISO 19650 principles and their practical application on live projects, including information requirements, naming conventions, classification systems and asset data deliverables such as COBie.
- Experience developing and enforcing regional information requirements, naming standards, asset data guidelines and digital information execution plans.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts and influence project teams, design consultants and senior stakeholders.
- High level of competence in corporate data management and data-led reporting tools is highly desirable (for example SharePoint, Power BI, Smartsheet, ClickUp/ Slack, etc).
