Your role will work with the wider Finance team to ensure that the daily financial activities of the company are running smoothly and are in line with longer term forecasts. You will play a critical role in ensuring the company’s finance & accounting functions are properly managed and that all internal and external reporting requirements are met on a timely basis. Your role will support broad company initiatives and interact with key internal and external stakeholders.

Your Duties

Lead on the production of key accounting documentation for the UKI finance team, including IFRS9 schedules, lease schedules and quarterly group reporting packs

Lead on the production of the consolidation, plus production of the annual financial statements for the entities in scope (under FRS101, FRS102 and IFRS)

Act as the key initial point of contact for all audits and across the various external audit teams and fiduciaries

Work with the Financial Controller and FP&A team to support on budgeting & forecasting

Partner with key stakeholders to ensure good communication and sharing of key information, supporting the operational & commercial teams by providing key insights to improve on performance and ensure spend is controlled

Production of monthly/quarterly debt and investor reporting requirements, liaising with the Treasury and Operations teams as required;

Manage the production / review of VAT & other tax returns (including capital allowance returns and RCT compliance) and onward submission to relevant tax authority; support on any queries, and liaison with external advisers.

Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of appropriate internal financial controls and risk management processes

Ensure that the company’s internal financial control systems, processes and policies are complied with by all parts of the Company’s operations

Support the business with ad hoc requests for data, insights, financial planning & analysis

Lead, develop and motivate all direct reports, identifying training requirements and mentoring team members to perform to the best of their ability

To ensure success in the role, you should:

Be a fully qualified accountant, ideally with post-qualification experience in a commercial environment

Experience working within the audit function of an accountancy firm (ideally Big Four)

Experience/knowledge of accounts production and (key) review of these – understanding the differences between presentation under FRS101, FRS102 and IFRS.

Have experience of building and managing relationships with multiple stakeholders, including external advisers and auditors

Have strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Have excellent written and verbal communication skills across a variety of formats and styles

Have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, delivering to tight deadlines under pressure.

Be skilled in working collaboratively, across different functions to achieve shared goals and deliver business objectives.
