The Construction team is responsible for the management of delivering data centers from conception through commissioning, working with Sales, Operations, Development, and Engineering along the way. Construction also works closely with partner contractors to come up with a vertically integrated design and manages these partners to deliver the projects on schedule and budget. One thing that distinguishes Vantage is that our technical staff is given the responsibility and authority to directly drive the process.
Commissioning of a new data centre is one of the most crucial aspects in determining the success of the overall project. Ensuring industry leading best practices are executed successfully on all our technical infrastructure brings confidence to not only the Operations department, but to the entire business and our customers.
Vantage is looking for a driven expert to ensure that current best practices are executed successfully and continually improved upon, with the objective to deliver the design intent with zero potential concerns in a safe, effective and efficient manner. Working with SME commissioning agents and VDC construction Managers across EMEA, you will manage the scope of activities, evaluate schedules, witness key commissioning milestones, create and report on KPIs, and liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
Coordination and translation of requirements from Vantage’s internal subject matter experts ensures long term operational sustainability is preserved while driving towards optimized construction delivery.
- Instruct, Manage and Monitor our SME commissioning agents to deliver continuous high-quality success to our projects through standardized processes and continual improvement.
- Development/improve, standardization, and management of the overall commissioning program to ensure that projects are commissioned the same way every time.
- Development of project tools, processes, & procedures that ensure the “perfect project” is launched every time.
- Manage 3rd Party Commissioning agents and hold them accountable for successful commissioning of the projects.
- Define and develop key business engagement process that enables the leadership team to make quicker decisions.
- Contributes in the development of a comprehensive QA/QC program that prevents problems from occurring, and also identifies risks early in the project life cycle.
- Actively engage with all peer level team members to develop and partner with the development of the bullet points above.
- Create relevant KPIs that highlight performance and quality of projects and commissioning agents.
Job Requirements:
- >4 years of experience in Data Centre commissioning required.
- Experience with live operations within a data center an added benefit.
- Data Centre, high-tech, or rapid growth industry experience is strongly preferred, but not required.
