Position Overview
Reporting to the Director, Operations Procurement, the Analyst will be an important part of the team to support development and delivery of site management procurement strategies for maintenance, consultancy, snag remediation, small construction projects, site mobilization and other areas of spend as required. In this position you will work closely with the Operations Procurement team, your stakeholders and local market. You will assess and understand the business need/requirements and provide data to develop effective site specific procurement strategies that deliver on time, within budget and to a high quality. You will improve ways of working, identify cost saving opportunities and maintain strong knowledge of the local suppliers. You will support and drive efficiency across the entire procurement life cycle: strategy, tender, contract negotiations, governance/approvals and ongoing supplier/contract management.
Essential Job Functions
- Work with Operations Procurement team and key stakeholders to understand short and long term site and regional requirements to support implementation of effective procurement strategies that enable site success.
- Measure vendor performance and support an effective strategic supplier management model.
- Develop strong partnerships with stakeholders to help inform the site operations strategy and proactively engage the market based on pipeline.
- Support delivery of cost and schedule savings opportunities.
- Engage cross functionally with finance and legal to establish baseline data and effective reporting strategies.
- Strong relationship driven approach to both internal stakeholder management and external support relationship management.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently translate data related to business needs and requirements into a procurement strategy.
- Present complex supply chain related data in an easy to understand way.
Duties:
- Implement best practices in procurement and supplier management to support commercial and operational objectives.
- Ensure that all required contracts are in place and renewals are being proactively managed.
- Work with our Legal team to examine and test new and existing contract structures.
- Establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with all colleagues, internal and external contractors, and clients.
- Support business review meetings with key stakeholders to assess risk, review future strategies, and identify potential cost reduction, risk mitigation and improvement opportunities.
- Work with the wider Development and OFCI Procurement Team to share lessons learned.
- Provide regular and accurate reporting to the Procurement team and VDC Site managers on supplier and contract performance.
- Manage end to end procurement activities for smaller, low risk deals.
- Support risk mitigation initiatives relating to supply chain management such as vendor onboarding.
- Ensure project timelines are met by partnering with stakeholders on implementation of a procurement plan.
- Proactively identify and communicate changes in requirements, project needs and business strategy to the procurement teams in order to mitigate risks.
- Develop clear processes to track and analyse procurement activity which supports stakeholder engagement.
- Implement a data driven approach to reporting of savings and value add initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration or equivalent required.
- 3+ years of relevant procurement / supply chain experience as a customer or supplier in Data Centre or complex infrastructure construction and/or facilities management.
- Experience with capturing, harvesting and presenting supply chain data (performance, spend, contract renewals, etc.).
- Ability to effectively assess and present complex data to drive informed decision making.
- Experience with procurement management and reporting systems.
- Strong inter-personal skills with excellent stakeholder management.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Good knowledge of procurement, commercial and negotiating techniques along with standard contract terms & conditions.
- Good knowledge of local markets, with an established network.
- Excellent planning and organization skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Assertive and confident and able to quickly build a high level of personal and professional credibility within the business and customer base, demonstrating strong commercial and financial acumen.
- EMEA travel required from time to time.
- On site presence required (this is not a fully remote role).
- German speaking is not required but would be nice to have.
