Mission Critical Engineering (MCE) Team: As an integral part of the EMEA Development Group within the CTO organisation, the MCE team serves as the technical authority and engineering lead during pre-construction. The team defines and governs the design brief, performance requirements, and engineering standards, ensuring solutions are resilient, compliant, and aligned with Vantage’s scaling strategy. MCE leads consultant and contractor technical engagement, establishes robust technical baselines, and drives informed engineering decisions to optimise cost, programme, and performance.
Position Overview: Vantage is seeking a Principal Architect- Digital & Asset Integration to join the Mission Critical Engineering (MCE) team within the CTO organisation in EMEA. This Principal-level role integrates architectural design authority with digital information governance and end-to-end lifecycle design, data integrity, and asset intelligence across Vantage’s EMEA portfolio. This role is responsible for delivering data-driven, platform-based data centre solutions across the EMEA portfolio, ensuring continuity from early-stage design through to operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architectural & Platform Design Leadership: Lead architectural scope across early-stage development (WS0–WS2), including feasibility, test fits, and concept design. Define and evolve scalable, repeatable design solutions aligned to platform strategy and standardisation objectives. Integrate CSA, MEP, ICT, and Security requirements into coordinated, buildable solutions.
- Digital Information Governance & Programme Leadership: Lead regional delivery of digital information strategy aligned with global goals. Establish and maintain ISO 19650-compliant information frameworks and CDE governance (ACC/Forma). Define / enforce portfolio-wide information standards, naming conventions, and digital workflows.
- Digital Delivery Oversight / BIM Execution Governance: Provide governance over BIM/Digital Delivery teams to ensure consistent execution of model federation and coordination, clash detection and resolution workflows, geometry QA and model health monitoring.
- Lifecyle Digital Asset Integration: Establish and govern the EMEA digital asset lifecycle framework, covering design through operations and asset refresh. Define structured digital turnover requirements enabling operational readiness and maintainable asset records.
- Asset Intelligence, Analytics & Digital Twin Enablement: Define structured data frameworks enabling portfolio-wide analytics and performance intelligence. Support development of asset relationship models and telemetry-enabled asset strategies.
- DfMA, Manufacturing Integration & Traceability: Establish digital frameworks supporting industrialised delivery and manufacturing traceability, including serialised asset data structures and module genealogy.
- Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration: Drive alignment across Design, Delivery, Procurement, Development, and Operations teams. Act as a key interface between MCE, Global/Regional Digital Information teams, and regional stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Lead initiatives to improve digital delivery, data quality, and lifecycle integration. Identify and implement new technologies supporting digital engineering and Virtual Design & Construction (VDC).
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- 10+ years experience in architectural design within data centre or mission critical environments.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 19650 information management and BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks, ACC/Forma).
Key Success Outcomes: Consistent portfolio-wide digital information governance and delivery standards, seamless design-to-operations data continuity across all projects, scalable digital asset models enabling operational and AI-driven insight.
National and international travel required and is expected up to 15%, which may vary over time aligned to business requirements.
