Role Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for managing and delivering activities across the Functional Safety lifecycle within project environments.
- Lead and support multidisciplinary engineering teams, including external contractors, ensuring all deliverables meet project requirements, regulatory obligations, and relevant industry standards.
- Provide guidance and technical mentoring to early-career engineers, trainees, apprentices, and graduates.
- Work closely with project leadership to ensure engineering outputs are delivered within budget, on schedule, and to the required quality standards, including identifying technical risks and managing design changes.
- Contribute to internal engineering forums and working groups aimed at improving technical standards, processes, and engineering practices across the organisation.
- Develop electrical and control system concepts and documentation, including items such as:
- Functional Design Specifications
- Safety Requirements documentation
- Electrical single‑line diagrams
- Network architecture layouts
- Equipment/device layout drawings
- Cause and effect matrices
- Functional safety architecture diagrams
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or related Engineering discipline, or equivalent Level 6 apprenticeship qualification.
- Approximately 7 + years of experience in a comparable engineering or automation role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical control systems and industrial automation environments.
