The Operations Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of all operational activities within the business. The role ensures that projects are delivered to programme, quality, and commercial expectations, while maintaining high standards of health, safety, and compliance. The Operations Manager translates business strategy into effective operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of day-to-day operational delivery across all projects
- Plan, coordinate, and control labour, subcontractors, PPE, vehicles, accommodation, test equipment and calibration
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to required quality standards
- Provide leadership and direction to Project Managers and site teams
- Maintain operational capacity aligned to workload demand
- Own operational SHEQ performance and site compliance
- Ensure safe systems of work are implemented and adhered to
- Monitor productivity, costs, and operational efficiency
- Protect project margins by minimising rework, delays, and inefficiency
- Identify and escalate delivery risks with mitigation actions
- Support recruitment, training, and competence development of operational staff
- Drive consistency, standardisation, and continuous improvement in delivery practices
