Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Lead the development of preliminary and detailed designs for overhead line projects, including associated equipment such as foundations, conductors, conductor systems, and structural elements.
- Prepare, check, and submit design documentation including Design Intent Documents, Design Criteria Reports, and analysis reports, with supporting calculations.
- Record and manage design data and decisions.
- Work alongside and support senior engineering staff.
- Maintain awareness of relevant legislation, particularly Health & Safety and CDM regulations.
- Review engineering documentation for feasibility and compliance with client requirements, supporting accurate project budgeting.
- Ensure designs and construction practices align with current legislation, policies, and operational requirements.
- Review method statements and risk assessments, liaise with construction teams, and support implementation of designs throughout project stages.
- Mentor junior engineers.
- Collaborate across teams and offices to deliver integrated solutions.
- Support development of internal policies, procedures, and QA systems.
- Undertake additional duties as required by management.
- Primarily office-based, with occasional site visits requiring adherence to health and safety procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- A-level (or equivalent) in Mathematics.
