Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Lead the development of preliminary and detailed designs for overhead line projects, including associated equipment such as foundations, conductors, conductor systems, and structural elements.
  • Prepare, check, and submit design documentation including Design Intent Documents, Design Criteria Reports, and analysis reports, with supporting calculations.
  • Record and manage design data and decisions.
  • Work alongside and support senior engineering staff.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant legislation, particularly Health & Safety and CDM regulations.
  • Review engineering documentation for feasibility and compliance with client requirements, supporting accurate project budgeting.
  • Ensure designs and construction practices align with current legislation, policies, and operational requirements.
  • Review method statements and risk assessments, liaise with construction teams, and support implementation of designs throughout project stages.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
  • Collaborate across teams and offices to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Support development of internal policies, procedures, and QA systems.
  • Undertake additional duties as required by management.
  • Primarily office-based, with occasional site visits requiring adherence to health and safety procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • A-level (or equivalent) in Mathematics.
