We are seeking a Technical Project Engineer to manage the engineering design and delivery of medium-voltage electrical equipment projects. Working within a highly skilled technical team, you will oversee projects from initial design through to final delivery, ensuring high-quality solutions and excellent customer outcomes.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of multiple projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and contribute to the successful delivery of critical electrical infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the engineering design and execution of medium-voltage equipment projects
- Produce engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and manufacturing documentation
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and provide technical guidance to customers
- Coordinate project activities, monitor progress, and ensure delivery to agreed timescales, budgets, and quality standards
- Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation plans throughout the project lifecycle
- Collaborate closely with engineering, production, deployment, and quality teams to ensure successful project execution
- Act as a key technical point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders
You will have a strong technical background combined with excellent project coordination and communication skills.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience working with medium-voltage equipment, switchgear, protection systems, or transformers
- Strong understanding of protection schemes, control circuits, and engineering documentation
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent planning and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a range of audiences
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or EPLAN
- Experience supporting Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and customer technical reviews
- Knowledge of IEC and BS EN standards
- Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2 or PMP would be advantageous
