Junior CAD Engineer

Junior CAD Engineer (Electrical) Leeds 25k – 30k DOE Role Overview: We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Electrical CAD Engineer to join our engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a technical background and a passion for electrical design to build a career in the power or electrical engineering sector. You will support the creation of electrical drawings and layouts under the guidance of experienced engineers, with a focus on systems such as switchgear, transformers, and power distribution. Key Responsibilities: Assist in producing 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings for electrical systems, including layouts for switchgear, transformers, and cabling routes. Work from engineering sketches and specifications to develop basic schematics, wiring diagrams, and general arrangement drawings. Collaborate with senior engineers and designers to support ongoing projects and learn industry best practices. Update and maintain CAD drawings and document revisions according to project and quality standards. Support the creation and organization of CAD blocks, templates, and libraries. Ensure drawings comply with relevant standards and project requirements. Required Skills and Experience: Basic understanding of electrical systems such as switchgear, transformers, and power distribution principles. Familiarity with AutoCAD 2D; basic knowledge of AutoCAD 3D is a plus. Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings and engineering documents.
