A specialist engineering organisation working within the defence and security sector is looking for an Electronics Assembly & Test Engineer to support the delivery, testing and maintenance of complex electronic and electrical systems. This is a hands-on role within a collaborative engineering team where you will support the assembly, calibration, testing and ongoing support of specialist equipment used in demanding operational environments. The position will involve working closely with engineers, technicians and customers, and may occasionally include site visits and travel to support deployed systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex assembly of electronic and electro-mechanical products in line with engineering specifications
- Carry out precision calibration and adjustments using specialised test equipment
- Conduct product and performance testing, accurately recording results and reporting issues
- Support engineers in developing and improving assembly and test procedures
- Assemble equipment based on engineering drawings and documentation
- Ensure components are cleaned and prepared according to established procedures
- Provide repair, maintenance and technical support for deployed systems
- Interact with customers when required to ensure products meet operational requirements
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Experience working across multiple engineering workflows or projects simultaneously
- Strong technical aptitude within electronic or electrical systems
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools for documentation and reporting
- Ability to plan and manage tasks effectively
Desirable
- Experience working within the defence, security or regulated engineering sectors
- Experience delivering technical products or services to public sector customers
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project
Qualifications
- Engineering qualification Level 3 or higher in a relevant discipline (desirable)
- 2+ years experience in an electronics, assembly, test or engineering support role (preferred)
Additional Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally internationally
- Must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance
