The Role
We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join our client's growing engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, commissioning and supporting bespoke machinery at customer sites across the UK and Ireland. This role involves regular travel to customer locations, with time spent at the Gainsborough manufacturing facility when not attending site visits. You will work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues to deliver exceptional customer support and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out service, maintenance and repair work on customer machinery
- Support machine installations, commissioning and upgrades
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults
- Provide technical support and advice to customers onsite
- Complete service documentation and reports accurately
- Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams when based at the factory
- Participate in training to develop specialist knowledge of the company's machinery range
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience in a Service Engineer or similar field-based engineering role
- Strong electro-mechanical skillset
- Electrical or Mechanical qualification (minimum Level 3)
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience working with machinery or automated equipment
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and Ireland
Desirable
- Electrical bias within an electro-mechanical background
- Experience working with bespoke or special-purpose machinery
- Previous commissioning or installation experience
