My client is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its Affinity Water AMP8 team, overseeing a portfolio of clean water projects across Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll manage a team of four Project Managers, work closely with Affinity Water and key delivery partners, and take ownership of projects from design through to handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of clean water construction projects, ensuring they’re delivered safely, on time and within budget.
- Manage projects through the full lifecycle, from pre-construction and design through to completion.
- Work closely with design teams to ensure schemes are buildable, compliant and ready for delivery.
- Coordinate pre-construction activities, including planning requirements, site setup and programme readiness.
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery through innovation and modern construction.
- Work alongside commercial teams to manage budgets, risks and project performance.
- Oversee project programmes, resources and delivery schedules across multiple sites.
- Support the selection and management of subcontractors and supply chain partners.
- Ensure projects are delivered to the required quality, cost and programme targets.
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of Project Managers.
- Build strong working relationships with Affinity Water, internal teams and subcontractors.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and resource planning as projects develop.
- Provide accurate project reporting and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture across all projects.
- Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 and company safety procedures.
- Support temporary works management and ensure lessons learned are shared across projects.
- Drive safe working practices and continuous improvement throughout project delivery.
Skillset required:
- Experience working under NEC and/or IChemE contracts.
- HNC, Degree or equivalent construction qualification (or relevant experience).
- PRINCE2, APM or similar qualification (or equivalent practical experience).
- CSCS Card (or willingness to obtain one).
- Confident using Microsoft Office 365.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative approach and commitment to safe, high-quality delivery.
