We are seeking a skilled BMS Service & Commissioning Engineer to join our growing Service and Commissioning team. In this role, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance, commission small works projects, and respond to reactive callouts across a variety of BMS systems.

You will work both independently and collaboratively, supporting and mentoring junior engineers when required. Knowledge sharing is encouraged, and you will receive ongoing technical support and training as part of a highly experienced team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service & Maintenance
    • Carry out PPM tasks, reactive callouts, and breakdown support in line with company SLAs.
    • Make and maintain backups of software and strategy files for all contracted sites.
    • Update the company server with backups on a regular basis.
    • Produce electrical LAN maps of site architecture where applicable.
    • Design and implement PPM planners for all service agreement sites.
    • Maintain and care for BMS controls equipment in line with company policy.
    • Complete detailed site visit reports, including recommendations and additional works.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Commissioning & Small Works
    • Commission various DDC control systems including Trend, Cylon, Siemens, and Tridium (additional training provided if needed).
    • Produce wiring and commissioning schedules, update panel drawings, and maintain commissioning files.
    • Carry out conditional site surveys and provide comprehensive reports.
    • Manage sub-contractors and ensure full compliance with method statements and risk assessments.
    • Maintain project folders and ensure documentation is backed up in accordance with ISO procedures.
    • Ensure all projects meet design specifications and the Programme of Works, reporting any issues promptly.
    • Oversee procurement of controls equipment and ensure correct selection for each project.
    • Create software, wiring & commissioning schedules, O&M documentation, and descriptions of operation.
    • Deliver clear demonstrations and handovers to clients on smaller projects.
  • Health & Safety
    • Enforce H&S procedures for all employees and subcontractors onsite.
    • Create, review, and update method statements and risk assessments.
    • Complete dynamic risk assessments (minimum one per job).
    • Report any deviations from company or client H&S policy to management.
  • General Duties
    • Check emails daily for updates and instructions.
    • Provide daily updates to your line manager.
    • Submit weekly timesheets, monthly expenses, and complete weekly vehicle checks.
    • Perform any other tasks deemed necessary by directors or managers.
Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes
  • Experience/Knowledge:
    • Experience with at least one BMS system: Trend, Tridium, Schneider, Siemens, ALC.
    • Understanding of Niagara-based systems.
    • Ability to interpret and modify existing BMS control strategies.
    • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems.
    • Electrically competent.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Self-motivated, responsible, and accountable.
    • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and superb time management.
    • Commercially aware with strong technical acumen.
    • Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
    • Confident using Excel, Word, Outlook, and in-house service/financial systems.

  • Weekly timesheets completed.
  • Monthly expenses submitted.
  • One vehicle check per week (Checked Safe app).
  • One dynamic risk assessment per job (minimum).
  • Identify and report additional works for quotation.
