An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced BMS Project Engineer to join a well-established building controls business delivering projects across commercial environments. This role offers the chance to work on a variety of projects, supporting installations, commissioning, testing, and client handovers across the Midlands region.

The Role

As a BMS Project Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and overseeing the delivery of BMS projects from installation through to commissioning and final handover. You will work closely with engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and connect BMS hardware and field devices
  • Load and commission control software into BMS controllers
  • Carry out point-to-point checks and system testing
  • Test control sequences, alarms, and integrations
  • Integrate BMS systems with HVAC, fire alarms, and other building services
  • Fault find across wiring, software, and communication networks
  • Optimise control settings and system performance
  • Complete commissioning documentation and reports
  • Support and train end users and building operators

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of BMS systems
  • Experience producing and managing programmes of work
  • Valid CSCS/ECS card
  • Good understanding of contracts/sub-contracts beneficial
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Competent with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
  • Positive attitude and ability to work within a team environment

Additional Information

  • 40-hour working week
  • Overtime is not regularly expected but may occasionally be required for out-of-hours works
  • Two-stage interview process
