Vantage Church of England Multi Academy Trust is committed to delivering excellence, developing people, and ensuring every pupil and every member of staff flourishes. The Trust is currently made up of 9 primary schools and 1 secondary school with growth plans in place.
This is a unique opportunity to join Vantage Academies’ very first in-house IT team as the trust begins an exciting new chapter in developing its own internal technology services. You’ll play a key role in shaping how IT operates across the organisation, helping to build a responsive, modern service that supports both staff and students every day.
About the Role
As Trust IT Lead, you’ll support the day-to-day delivery of IT across the trust, ensuring systems are reliable, accessible, and effective. You’ll work closely with colleagues to help them make the most of digital tools, both in the classroom and across operational functions. Your contribution will directly support the smooth running of schools and the education of young people.
This is more than a standard IT support role. You’ll be joining at the very beginning of the trust’s in-house IT journey, with the opportunity to influence processes, establish standards, and shape the future direction of IT services across Vantage Academies.
Support and Development
While the team is being built internally, you won’t be doing it alone. You’ll benefit from the support of an experienced partner trust, providing additional expertise, guidance, and escalation where needed. This creates a unique environment, combining the ownership and influence of an in-house role with the backing of an established and highly regarded education IT team. As the trust grows, there will be opportunities for professional development and progression for the right candidate.

- Passionate about technology and delivering excellent customer service
- Confident supporting a range of users with varying technical needs
- A strong problem-solver who takes pride in resolving issues effectively
- Keen to contribute ideas and help shape a developing service
Most importantly, you’ll enjoy being part of a collaborative team and want to make a visible difference across the trust. The post holder will be required to work in schools, at the trust offices or in Knowsley Lane Primary School. Travel may be required to third party support base from time-to-time. The post holder will report directly to Chief Finance and Operations Officer with the supervision of the interim IT Director.

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.
✨Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach
