Job Description Class 2 Day Driver - Collect & Deliver
Vanta Staffing is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Class 2 Day Driver to join their transport operation on a permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a reliable and customer-focused HGV Class 2 driver looking for regular Monday-to-Friday work, with consistent local delivery routes and vehicles provided.
The Role
As a Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for completing local Collect & Deliver (C&D) work, collecting and delivering palletised freight to assigned locations safely and efficiently.
Suitable vehicles and electric pallet trucks are provided.
The role does involve some physical work when completing certain deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
Completing local collections and deliveries safely and efficiently.
Following all client and pallet network processes and procedures.
Managing your allocated delivery route and ensuring collections and deliveries are completed on time.
Using an electric pallet truck where required.
Providing professional and courteous customer service at every delivery and collection.
Keeping Driver CPC training up to date, with required training provided and paid for by the client.
Supporting ad-hoc distribution requirements and Roadshow activities when required.
Working effectively both independently and as part of a wider transport team.
Requirements
Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence .
Minimum 12 months' Class 2 driving experience .
Previous multi-drop or palletised delivery experience is desirable.
Physically capable of undertaking occasional manual handling duties.
Reliable, flexible and safety-conscious.
Working Hours
45 hours per week
Monday to Friday
Working hours between approximately 7:30am and 5:30pm
Includes a 1-hour lunch break
Saturday morning overtime: 7:00am-1:00pm, approximately once per month
Salary & Benefits
£33,000 - £35,000 per annum , depending on experience
22 days' annual leave + 8 Bank Holidays
Saturday overtime paid additionally
Driver CPC training provided and paid for by the client
