Class 1 Night Driver to join their transport operation on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 1 driver who is comfortable working independently and enjoys regular night-time driving.

The Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and professional delivery and collection of palletised freight from partner depots.

The majority of loading and unloading will be carried out using forklift trucks, although there may also be some use of electric pallet trucks.

The role can involve some physical work when completing certain deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving a Class 1 HGV to deliver and collect palletised freight.
  • Completing deliveries and collections safely, efficiently and on time.
  • Carrying out vehicle and load checks in accordance with company procedures.
  • Working professionally with customers, pallet network partners and colleagues.
  • Reporting any issues or concerns through the appropriate channels.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and representing the client positively at all times.
  • Following all company and statutory Health & Safety requirements.
  • Maintaining compliance with Driver CPC requirements and completing required training.
  • Working effectively both independently and as part of a wider transport team.

Requirements

  • Valid

Class 1 (C+E) licence .

  • Valid

Driver CPC qualification .

  • Minimum

12 months' Class 1 driving experience .

  • Previous night-driving experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Good understanding of UK road transport regulations and Health & Safety.
  • Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach.
  • Ability to work independently during night shifts.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Physically capable of undertaking occasional manual handling duties.
