We are looking for an experienced air conditioning engineer to join our team of mechanics and coach builders maintaining our fleet of high-end luxury leisure vehicles.

About the role:
Are you an experienced professional who thrives on new challenges and being part of an effective maintenance team? As an Automotive Air Conditioning Engineer with VFB, you'll be responsible for the ongoing servicing, maintenance and repair of the HVAC systems on our luxury tour bus fleet, which consists of Mercedes Sprinters, VW Transporters, as well as Van Hool Astromega and Setra 431 sleeper coaches. You'll be based at our depot in Begbroke near Oxford and have the opportunity to learn from the best, take part in regular ongoing training, and work on some of the highest specification and most luxurious vehicles on the roads today.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience
- Proven experience with vehicle air conditioning.
- Needs to have a keen eye for detail and the ability to work to a high standard
- Must be reliable and have good time keeping
- Must be able to work well in a team
- Must have the ability to fault find and problem solve
- Must be open to ongoing training and upskilling through both formal courses and informal mentoring
- Good understanding of Health and Safety at work (with relevant training course certificates)
- Ideally with background in one or more of the following luxury market sectors - luxury leisure vehicles, high-end yachts/motorboats, bespoke horse boxes with living quarters, custom built film and TV location vehicles.
Examples of ideal skills and experience:
- A background in automotive air condition installation and/or maintenance (eg coaches, vans, cars)
- A background in one or more of the following luxury market sectors would be ideal (but not essential) - luxury leisure vehicles, high-end yachts/motorboats, bespoke horse boxes with living quarters, custom built film and TV location vehicles
- Ideally some knowledge of auxiliary vehicle heating (eg Webasto diesel heaters)
- Ideally knowledge of automotive electrics: 12v, 24v and 240v AC and DC distribution and charge circuit design, installation, alternation, battery isolation
- Knowledge of 32/3 phase integration (landline charging and 3 phase AC compressors) would be a bonus
- Knowledge of solar charge circuit systems installation is desirable
