Warehouse Team Leader
Working Hours: 5 days out of 7, including Sundays, on a rotating shift pattern of 6:00am-2:00pm and 2:00pm-10:00pm.
A leading distribution business is currently recruiting for a Warehouse Team Leader to join its busy Belfast operation.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional looking to take the next step into a leadership position within a fast-paced and customer-focused environment.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will help oversee the day-to-day warehouse operation, supporting and developing the team while ensuring productivity, quality and service standards are consistently achieved.
The Role
- Assist with the daily management of warehouse operations and provide cover for the Operations Manager when required.
- Lead, motivate and support a warehouse team to achieve daily productivity and performance targets.
- Coach and develop team members, providing regular feedback and monitoring performance.
- Ensure warehouse procedures, processes and documentation are completed accurately and in line with company standards.
- Carry out routine health and safety checks, reporting and resolving issues where appropriate.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture across the warehouse.
- Coordinate daily activities across goods-in, picking, packing, loading and dispatch.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues across the operation to ensure smooth workflow.
- Maintain accurate operational records and monitor warehouse performance.
- Track and deliver against key operational and service KPIs.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and overall warehouse performance.
- The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a warehouse supervisory, team leader or similar operational leadership role.
- Proven ability to lead teams and achieve productivity targets.
- Strong organisational, administrative and problem-solving skills.
- Confident communicator with excellent people management skills.
- Customer-focused with the ability to perform well under pressure.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Highly organised and able to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible approach to working hours and operational requirements.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
