About You:
- Proven experience in transport management, logistics, or fleet operations within food manufacturing, FMCG, or distribution sectors
- Hold a CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) in Transport Management (Essential)
- Strong knowledge of transport regulations, including DVSA, Operator Licences, and health & safety compliance
- Demonstrable success in cost control, route optimisation, and operational efficiency improvements
- Leadership skills with experience managing and developing drivers and logistics teams
- Proficient in Transport Management Systems (TMS) and fleet tracking software
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities (Desirable)
- NEBOSH or IOSH certification in health & safety, and experience with telematics and logistics automation
What You'll Do:
- Lead and manage daily transport operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries
- Ensure compliance with all transport legislation and health & safety standards
- Oversee fleet maintenance and vehicle records, including driver working hours and infringements
- Monitor and control operational costs, including diesel usage and fleet efficiency
- Supervise route planning and optimise delivery schedules
- Manage budgets, invoices, and purchase orders associated with transport operations
- Provide training and development to your team, fostering a safety-first culture
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives across the department
- Partner with insurance and safety teams to maintain regulatory standards and incident management
