Job Overview
VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a leading organisation in Belfast to recruit an experienced Senior HR Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive HR professional to provide comprehensive support across the employee lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on employee relations, operational HR delivery, and the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

What you\’ll do:

  • Provide advice, guidance, and support on employee relations matters, including absence management, grievances, and low-level investigations.
  • Coach and support managers on people management issues to promote effective employee relations and engagement.
  • Administer core HR processes, including payroll, benefits, contracts, and maintenance of accurate employee records.
  • Co-ordinate recruitment and selection activities, from advertising and shortlisting to interviews and documentation.
  • Maintain and use HR systems to extract, analyse, and report data for management decision-making.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and compliance of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives in line with legal requirements and best practice.
  • Contribute to organisational programmes including health, wellbeing, corporate responsibility, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Undertake projects and provide administrative support, including preparation of reports, meeting documentation, and other assigned tasks.

What you\’ll need:

  • Relevant third-level qualification and/or CIPD qualification.
  • Minimum of three years\’ experience in a generalist HR role, with proven expertise in employee relations, including coaching and supporting managers and staff.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and best HR practice.
  • Analytical, organised, and results-driven, able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Adaptable and flexible approach, with a strong customer focus.
