An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well-established and growing engineering organisation delivering innovative, technology-driven solutions across complex infrastructure projects. This is a design-led BIM role within a supportive and forward-thinking environment, offering strong career development and long-term stability.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Design, the BIM Engineer will take ownership of detailed modelling and digital coordination across modular and containerised systems. This role combines hands-on BIM design with coordination across multiple engineering disciplines, ensuring designs are practical, accurate and ready for manufacture.

Key Responsibilities

  • BIM Authoring & Design
    • Develop detailed Revit models for modular units, containers and skid-based systems
    • Model structural frameworks, enclosures and supporting components
  • Systems Integration
    • Coordinate electrical containment systems (tray, ladder, trunking, busbar)
    • Model internal and external cabling routes
  • Thermal & Environmental Considerations
    • Support heat loss / gain assessments within modular environments
    • Assist with layouts to support ventilation and cooling strategies
  • BIM Content & Coordination
    • Create and manage BIM content, including developing Revit families
    • Convert existing 3D/CAD models into usable BIM assets
  • Project & Tender Support
    • Produce early-stage BIM layouts to support tenders and proposals
  • Digital Delivery
    • Use platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar for coordination and issue tracking

Requirements

  • Essential
    • Strong Revit experience within an engineering or industrial environment
    • Experience modelling plant rooms, modular systems, or similar environments
    • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical design information
    • Strong spatial awareness and problem-solving ability
  • Desirable
    • Experience within infrastructure, industrial or data-driven environments
    • Familiarity with electrical layouts (LV/MV)
    • Experience with Navisworks, ACC or similar coordination tools
    • Exposure to thermal or ventilation modelling
