Restaurant Manager VANRATH is delighted to be working with a luxury 5-star hotel in County Down, close to Belfast, to recruit an experienced Restaurant Manager for their acclaimed fine dining restaurant. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional to lead and motivate a team, delivering memorable dining experiences from breakfast and afternoon tea through to dinner. Working under the General Manager, you will foster a culture of teamwork and professionalism, and be part of a group that places great emphasis on recruitment, induction and development. Salary: Competitive, based on experience Hours: Full-time, 45 hours per week (excluding breaks), five days out of seven. As a Head of Department, a flexible approach is required, including days, evenings and weekends as required. Location: County Down (close to Belfast) About the Role The role involves managing the outlet for the greatest enjoyment of guests and maximum profit contribution to the hotel. Key Responsibilities Manage and motivate the restaurant team through effective communication, training and development, in line with company policies and employment legislation Support the General Manager with departmental budgets and forecasting, managing costs and the financial performance of the restaurant Ensure company quality standards and procedures are implemented and regularly reviewed, using guest feedback to drive continual improvement Manage stock ordering and control, and maintain the security of storage areas and stock Ensure the team delivers excellent service, proactively promotes the hotel's facilities and services, and resolves feedback and complaints in line with company policy Maintain compliance with health, safety, fire, hygiene, security and licensing legislation Assist with recruitment, selection and rostering to match business peaks and troughs Work with other Department Heads, and carry out the role of Duty Manager as required What You Will Need Essential Right to work in the United Kingdom Educated to Level 2 (GCSE Grades A-C) or equivalent in English and Mathematics A passionate hospitality professional A minimum of 1 year's experience at a similar, senior level Ability to deliver an exceptional standard of customer service Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve success Experience managing staffing levels, rotas, wage costs and departmental budgets Desirable Previous experience within a 5-star hotel environment Educated to Level 6 (undergraduate degree) or equivalent in a relevant field such as Tourism and Hospitality Management Experience in a Michelin Guide, AA Rosette or equivalent quality-led operation WSET qualification or extensive wine knowledge Benefits Competitive salary, aligned to your experience Complimentary meals when on duty Exclusive, preferential room rates across the group's hotels 20% discount on food at the group's restaurants Retail discounts and perks Free parking at selected sites 29 days' holiday increasing with service, plus your birthday Extensive learning and development opportunities For further information on this job, apply via the link or contact the VANRATH office for a confidential chat today.
