Client: Our client is a leading, award-winning Main Contractor that operates across a range of sectors delivering outstanding projects up to circa £70m in value. They carry out new build, refurbishment and fit-out projects across the UK within multiple sectors including hospitality, leisure, education, residential and high residential.
The Role: The business is looking for a Project Surveyor to join the commercial team. Initial projects are new build hotels in London. Long term there will be a range of other projects to work on so this opportunity will suit a Quantity Surveyor that has a diverse project background, able to manage projects from £30m to £50m in value. This opportunity is based full time in the Belfast office, with occasional travel to London (typically 2 days every fortnight).
Responsibilities Include:
- Negotiating and appointing sub-contractors to schemes
- Managing sub-contractor packages through from appointment to final account
- The submission of all valuations and variations on schemes
- Providing cost reports in line with project budgets
- Building close working relationships with Contracts Managers and Site teams to deliver quality projects
- Carrying out measurement checks
The Ideal Person:
- Degree Qualified or other relevant qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience
- Main Contracting background
- Experience working on new build projects
- Ability to manage projects from £30m to £50m in value
- Excellent commercial acumen
- The ability to plan, organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Happy to travel and stay away 2 days every fortnight
