VANRATH is delighted to be partnering with a growing group of businesses operating across media, print, digital and creative services on the appointment of a Head of Digital. As the group continues to expand, they are looking for an ambitious, commercially minded digital professional to take the lead on online growth, website performance and the customer experience across every digital channel. This is a hands-on post rather than a purely strategic one. It will suit someone who pairs commercial instinct with real technical understanding and solid digital marketing experience.
You will own digital trading performance, driving online sales and profitability through ongoing development of the group's e-commerce platforms, marketing activity and customer journey. Working alongside directors, sales, customer service and external partners, you will find the openings to grow traffic, lift conversion and build customer lifetime value, keeping the websites performing as market-leading platforms commercially and for the end user.
Location and Working Arrangements
- Role is based in Omagh, working 2 to 3 days per week on site there
- Up to 2 days per week in Belfast, with flexibility around which days
- Travel to Belfast is expensed
- Occasional travel to other group sites may be required
- Project requirements and deadlines mean work locations can vary from time to time
- Best suited to someone living in or near Omagh who is happy to travel to Belfast when needed
Key Responsibilities
- Own the online trading performance of the group's e-commerce platforms and the sales and margin they deliver
- Develop and manage websites and content, keeping performance, functionality and the user journey under continuous review
- Plan and deliver digital marketing across SEO, PPC and email, working with external partners where needed
- Identify and act on opportunities to grow traffic, improve conversion rates and increase customer lifetime value
- Track, analyse and report on digital performance, using the data to shape decisions
- Shape and improve the online customer experience end to end
- Work closely with directors, sales teams and customer service to keep digital aligned with wider commercial goals
The Ideal Candidate
- Three to five years' experience minimum in e-commerce management, digital marketing or online trading
- Proven track record of growing online sales and improving website performance
- Strong grounding in e-commerce platforms, CMS platforms and website content management
- Hands-on experience running SEO, PPC and email marketing campaigns
- Confident with Google Analytics (GA4), Google Ads and Google Search Console
- Experience of Klaviyo or a similar email marketing platform
- Commercially aware, with the ability to make decisions from data
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Well organised, with sound project management skills
- Excellent communicator, comfortable managing stakeholders at all levels
- Suited to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
