Are you a Maintenance Engineer looking for a stable night shift role with a leading manufacturer? We're recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and growing food manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive engineering team where you'll play a key role in keeping production running efficiently while contributing to continuous improvement across the site.

The Role

  • Working as part of the engineering team, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, carrying out planned preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency.
  • You'll also be involved in equipment improvements, new installations and helping drive a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production equipment.
  • Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns, carrying out effective fault finding and repairs.
  • Diagnose faults on plant control systems and production machinery.
  • Complete root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Install, modify and commission new plant and equipment.
  • Work closely with Production Managers and Shift Supervisors to prioritise maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Promote high standards of Health & Safety and housekeeping.
  • Provide technical support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

  • Essential: City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work independently.
  • Desirable: Experience within FMCG or food manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Experience working on automated production equipment.
