This is a senior-level opportunity for an accomplished tax professional with a strong background in either Corporate Tax or Employment Tax to take ownership of a broad and commercially important tax remit within a substantial organisation. The Role Reporting to senior Finance leadership, you will take a lead role across the organisation's tax affairs, providing high-quality technical advice and ensuring the business maintains robust compliance, governance and reporting standards. The role will provide considerable breadth, with exposure to corporate and employment tax matters, alongside wider group activity, cross-border transactions and strategic tax projects. You will act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders across Finance and the wider business, translating complex tax issues into clear, commercially focused recommendations. What You Will Do Take ownership of a broad portfolio of corporate and/or employment tax matters across the group. Lead the delivery of tax compliance, reporting and governance requirements. Provide expert technical tax advice to senior Finance and business stakeholders. Advise on the tax implications of commercial activity, group transactions, restructurings and business initiatives. Manage relationships with external tax advisers and relevant professional stakeholders. Oversee corporation tax, PAYE, VAT, customs and other relevant tax obligations as appropriate to your area of expertise. Provide input into cross-border transactions and wider group tax matters. Support tax planning and identify opportunities to improve the organisation's overall tax position. Ensure appropriate tax controls, processes and governance frameworks are maintained. Contribute to wider financial reporting and statutory requirements. Lead and support tax-related projects, process improvements and systems development. Keep the organisation up to date with changes in tax legislation and assess the commercial implications. Significant post-qualification experience within Corporate Tax, Employment Tax or a closely related area. Previous experience operating at Tax Manager, Senior Tax Manager or equivalent level. Strong technical tax knowledge with the ability to apply legislation within a commercial environment. Experience managing complex tax matters and advising senior stakeholders. Strong understanding of tax compliance, governance and risk management. Experience working with external advisers and managing relationships effectively. Commercially astute, with the confidence to challenge and influence at senior level. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. A proactive and strategic approach, with the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy.
