VANRATH are recruiting a Site Engineer to work on various Civil Engineering and Piling projects for a leading, specialist Contractor, working on projects in Northern Ireland.

Remuneration: £Competitive DOE + van / package

Client: Leading, specialist Civil Engineering and Piling Contractor that operate across the UK and Ireland. They carry out both small and large scale projects across various sectors including residential, commercial and public authorities, up to £20m in value. The business has been operating for over 50 years and has a great reputation for their problem-solving approach and offering a complete design and build service, providing innovative, cost-effective solutions.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure efficient programme of works
  • Responsibility for measurements and valuations
  • Assume responsibility for setting out / dimensional control
  • Ensure effective organisation of sections of work
  • Compliance with Health & Safety Regulations ensuring that all issues of Health & Safety are monitored regularly, and accurate records maintained
  • Maintain daily/weekly contact with Site Agent
  • Assume responsibility for decision making in conjunction with Site Agent
  • External contact with clients' representatives
  • External contact with sub-contractors
  • Deputise for Site Agent if required

The Ideal Person:

  • Third level qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • At least 2 years' experience in a Civil Engineering role
  • Good experience setting out on site
  • Experience of using AutoCAD or other equivalent software
  • Ability to successfully implement, maintain and ensure compliance of Health & Safety legislation
  • Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
  • Commercially aware of economies and efficiencies
  • Fully flexible regarding travel, prepared to travel to site locations
  • Ability to read and understand Construction drawings and Specification
  • IT literate in all Microsoft Office applications
  • CSR / CSCS Card
  • Full Drivers License
