A respected public sector organisation in Belfast is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Casework Officer on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised professional with strong administrative, case management and customer service experience to join a busy team responsible for assessing and managing complex casework. The successful candidate will play a key role in reviewing complaints and enquiries, gathering and assessing evidence, communicating decisions, maintaining accurate records and supporting investigative processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess incoming cases and determine eligibility against relevant legislative and procedural requirements.
  • Review complex information and make evidence-based decisions within established timeframes.
  • Obtain and analyse information from a range of stakeholders to support case assessments and investigations.
  • Prepare detailed written correspondence and decision letters.
  • Provide advice and assistance to members of the public and key stakeholders.
  • Manage a varied caseload while meeting performance targets and service standards.
  • Maintain accurate records using electronic case management systems.
  • Produce reports and monitor data to support operational performance and quality standards.
  • Support investigative teams with enquiries, meeting arrangements and administrative activities.
  • Respond to telephone, email and written enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and service development.

About You

  • A-level qualifications (or equivalent).
  • At least 2 years' administrative experience within a busy customer service environment.
  • Experience using case management or case handling systems.
  • Experience collating, monitoring and reporting on data.
  • Previous experience preparing detailed written decisions, reports or correspondence.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Experience interpreting legislation, policy or regulatory guidance to inform decisions.
