VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our major Public Sector client, a large organisation with the recruitment of a Regeneration Project Officer to join their team based in Newtownabbey.

You'll be joining a progressive local government organisation committed to driving economic development, regeneration and infrastructure investment across the borough. Working within the Economic Development and Planning function, the Regeneration team delivers strategic masterplans, town centre initiatives and externally funded programmes aligned to regional growth strategies.
About you
- A relevant third level qualification (Level 4 or above) in a business-related or similar discipline OR at least 2 years' relevant experience
- Minimum 1 year's recent experience in economic development, regeneration, rural or community development
- Experience managing, monitoring or vouching funding applications and claims (desirable)
- Experience of public procurement processes (desirable)
- Strong planning, organisational and administrative skills
- Good financial and analytical ability
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- Full driving licence and access to transport
- Flexibility to attend occasional evening meetings
What you'll do
- Support the delivery of regeneration and economic development programmes
- Assist with funding applications, claims, monitoring and compliance processes
- Review business plans and financial information to inform project assessments
- Monitor project performance, budgets and funding
- Support town centre engagement initiatives and stakeholder collaboration
- Maintain accurate project records to meet audit and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to procurement and contractor appointment processes
- Prepare reports, briefings and performance information for senior management and committee
