This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced solicitor, barrister or legal professional with a strong background in conveyancing and property to take on a senior role, providing expert advice, policy input and practical support to the legal profession across Northern Ireland. About you You will be an experienced legal professional with substantial expertise in conveyancing and property, alongside a detailed understanding of the Northern Ireland legal system. You will have either: A professional legal qualification as a solicitor or barrister, with a minimum of 3 years' post-qualifying experience in conveyancing and property; or A minimum of 5 years' substantial and demonstrable experience in conveyancing and property gained within a legal, professional, regulatory or policy environment. You will also have: Detailed working knowledge of conveyancing law, practice and procedure in Northern Ireland In-depth knowledge of the Northern Ireland legal system Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex legal issues Sound judgement and decision-making skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills What you'll do Act as the organisation's lead adviser on specific legal matters, keeping up to date with developments in policy, legislation and best practice Build and maintain effective working relationships with Council members, the profession and a range of external stakeholders across Government and other sectors Provide high-quality advice, insight and written submissions to relevant Practice Committees Act as Secretary to the Conveyancing and Non-Contentious Business Committees Draft responses to Government consultation papers and prepare submissions for Committees and Council Develop practical support and guidance for the profession, including Practice Notes relating to legal developments Analyse complex legal and policy issues and provide clear recommendations and advice Support the organisation's work to address issues currently facing the conveyancing and property profession Deliver appropriate conferences, events and stakeholder engagement activity For further information on this opportunity, or any other position in Belfast or wider Northern Ireland, please apply via the link or contact Conor Birch in the strictest confidence.
