A leading aerospace manufacturer is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join its growing engineering team at a modern, state-of-the-art facility in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer looking to work within a highly regulated, advanced manufacturing environment where continuous improvement, innovation and career development are actively encouraged.

The Role

As Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in developing, optimising and supporting manufacturing processes for critical aerospace components. You'll work across a range of specialist processes including assembly, bonding, surface treatments, painting and automated manufacturing technologies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and improving manufacturing methods and processes
  • Providing day-to-day engineering support to production operations
  • Designing and specifying tooling, fixtures and manufacturing aids
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing cells
  • Supporting the introduction of new products and process changes
  • Managing engineering change control activities
  • Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical instructions and procedures
  • Defining process flows and supporting manufacturing layout improvements
  • Working closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain and Continuous Improvement teams
  • Supporting customer projects and responding to technical queries
  • Assisting with operator training and process implementation

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • HNC/HND (Level 3 or above) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Previous Manufacturing Engineering experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Experience working within aerospace or another highly regulated industry
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and continuous improvement mindset
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Desirable:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related subject
  • Experience across multiple manufacturing processes
  • Automation, robotics programming or robotic cell experience
  • CAD and ERP system knowledge
  • Continuous Improvement qualifications such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Experience working directly with customers and suppliers
