You'll be joining a progressive local authority within its Finance and Governance function. The Member Services team plays a vital role in supporting elected representatives, facilitating committee processes and ensuring the effective administration of Council business.
About you
- Minimum of 2 years' relevant administrative or clerical experience
- Experience preparing agendas, reports, minutes and correspondence
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
- Experience supporting meetings and committee administration (desirable)
- Knowledge of governance or committee procedures (desirable)
- Full driving licence (or access to suitable transport)
What you'll do
- Provide confidential administrative support to elected members and Council committees
- Coordinate agendas, reports, meeting papers and committee documentation
- Attend meetings, record proceedings and prepare accurate minutes
- Manage paperless meeting systems and document circulation processes
- Maintain records relating to member attendance, committees and declarations
- Coordinate meeting logistics, room bookings and virtual meeting arrangements
- Support Freedom of Information requests and governance reporting requirements
- Assist with mayoral and civic administration activities
- Arrange member travel, accommodation and conference attendance
- Maintain calendars, records and administrative systems
- Liaise with internal departments, elected members and external stakeholders
- Deliver a high standard of customer service and administrative support throughout the organisation
