Due to continued expansion, our client is seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive sales growth, strengthen customer relationships and identify new business opportunities across Northern Ireland. This is a field-based role, and we are open to candidate locations across Northern Ireland.

About you

  • Proven experience in a field-based sales, business development or account management role
  • Previous experience within the builders' merchant, construction materials, building products or related sector
  • Strong understanding of the construction, contractor, developer and trade customer market
  • Ability to build long-term customer relationships and identify growth opportunities
  • Commercially aware with strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Self-motivated and target-driven with excellent organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Northern Ireland

What you'll do

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across the construction and building sectors
  • Develop and grow relationships with contractors, developers, house builders, trade professionals and key accounts
  • Maximise sales opportunities across a broad range of building materials and construction products
  • Work closely with branch teams and specialist departments to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Conduct regular customer visits, site meetings and business reviews
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements
  • Prepare sales forecasts and pipeline reports for management
  • Represent the business professionally and promote its products, services and values in the marketplace
