VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our major Public Sector client, a large organisation with the recruitment of an Admin Officer to join their team based in Newtownabbey.

About your next employer

You'll be joining a progressive local authority within its Economic Development and Planning function. The team is responsible for delivering a range of initiatives focused on business growth, investment, regeneration, employability and skills development across the borough.

About you

  • Minimum of 2 years' administrative experience
  • Experience dealing with members of the public and a range of stakeholders
  • Strong data entry, database management and record-keeping skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality
  • 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths) or equivalent, or substantial relevant administration experience

What you'll do

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support across economic development programmes
  • Maintain databases, dashboards, records and business information systems
  • Process programme documentation, applications and grant-related paperwork
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, seminars and stakeholder events
  • Manage correspondence, enquiries and customer communications
  • Prepare reports, presentations, agendas and meeting minutes
  • Support employability and skills initiatives, including Labour Market Partnership programmes
  • Assist with financial administration, purchase orders and payment processing
  • Maintain accurate project records and monitoring information
  • Support business engagement activities and promotional events
  • Liaise with project partners, funders, businesses and community stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with customer service, GDPR and administrative procedures
