We are currently working with a well-established and growing engineering company in the Newry area who are looking to add a Design Engineer to their team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable business with a strong project pipeline and long-term career prospects.
The Role
As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing accurate, high-quality designs to support manufacturing and project delivery. You will work closely with production, engineering, and project teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and develop detailed 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks
- Produce manufacturing and assembly drawings
- Support new product development and design improvements
- Liaise with manufacturing to ensure designs are optimised for production
- Review and update existing designs and documentation
- Participate in design reviews and project meetings
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Design Engineer or similar role
- Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks (essential)
- Experience producing detailed manufacturing drawings
- Background in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
