Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Cookstown Contract: Permanent Salary: £42,000 – £45,000 Sector: Engineering / Manufacturing Software: Revit | SolidWorks | Inventor A large, well-established engineering business in Cookstown is continuing through a strong period of growth and is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join its expanding design team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically complex projects within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, with clear long-term development prospects. The Role As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions across a range of engineering projects. You will work closely with electrical, process, and controls engineers, contributing throughout the full project lifecycle, from initial concept through to installation and commissioning. Key Responsibilities Mechanical design and development in line with client and project specifications Production and coordination of 3D models using Revit and related design tools Creation of general arrangement drawings, sections, and elevations Development of detailed fabrication and installation drawings Preparation of equipment schedules, calculations, and technical specifications Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to source equipment and technical information Supporting technical submissions and design reviews Attending project design meetings and site visits as required Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary design team Ensuring designs comply with quality, environmental, and health & safety standards What We\’re Looking For Essential: HNC / HND (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering Minimum 4 years\’ experience in a mechanical design engineering role Strong experience with 3D design software such as Revit, SolidWorks, or Inventor Background in fabrication and practical design for manufacture Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team Proactive, innovative approach to engineering design What\’s On Offer Salary of £42,000 – £45,000 Permanent role with a growing and financially stable engineering company Exposure to technically challenging, end-to-end engineering projects Modern design tools and systems Long-term career development and progression opportunities Supportive, collaborative engineering culture If this role could be of interest to you, reach out to or click apply.
