Mechanical Maintenance Fitter Β£53,000 per annum | Rotating Night Shift We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join a busy manufacturing environment on a rotating night shift. The Role Working as part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring production equipment remains safe, reliable and operating efficiently, while supporting the wider production team with fault finding, preventative maintenance and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities will include: Carrying out mechanical fault diagnosis and repairs. Completing planned preventative and reactive maintenance. Supporting product tool changes and machine set-up. Process setting and product quality optimisation. Troubleshooting process-related issues. Supporting and mentoring apprentices within the maintenance team. Maintaining high standards of safety and housekeeping. Ensuring maintenance records are accurately updated in line with internal systems and relevant ISO/BRC standards. Supporting energy reduction and efficiency initiatives. Contributing to continuous improvement projects across the site. Shift Pattern This position operates on a rotating night shift, averaging 42.35 hours per week with 3 x 20-minute paid breaks. Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Experience carrying out both preventative and breakdown maintenance. Experience with machinery set-up, tooling or process optimisation would be advantageous. A strong focus on health & safety and quality. The ability to work effectively as part of a wider engineering and production team. A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
