This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative engineering team responsible for designing and developing market-leading products used around the world. You'll take ownership of projects from concept through to production, working closely with Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain teams to deliver robust, high-quality engineering solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll lead the design and development of new and existing products, ensuring designs meet customer requirements, manufacturing capability and industry standards.
- Designing and developing new products and improving existing designs.
- Producing 3D models, detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Leading projects from concept, prototyping and testing through to full production release.
- Working closely with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure products are optimised for efficient manufacture and assembly (DFM/DFA).
- Collaborating with Production, Quality and Supply Chain teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and engineering change processes.
- Carrying out design calculations, engineering analysis and product validation where required.
- Ensuring all designs comply with relevant industry standards, specifications and customer requirements.
- Identifying opportunities for product improvement, cost reduction and value engineering.
- Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance across the engineering team.
- Supporting customer meetings and technical discussions when required.
What We're Looking For
- A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or a related engineering discipline.
- Several years' experience within a Design Engineer or Senior Design Engineer position.
- Strong 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, Solid Edge or similar).
- Experience designing products for manufacture within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- A strong understanding of engineering materials, manufacturing processes and assembly techniques.
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and engineering change management.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
- A proactive approach with a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
