Service Engineer - Auto Electrician Salary: £41,000 - £45,000 per annum Location: Lisburn Area Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent An established transport and engineering business is seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join its team. This is a hands-on role involving the inspection, servicing, fault diagnosis and repair of a range of heavy vehicles and specialist equipment. The Role Carry out routine servicing, inspections and repairs on distribution tractors, heavy vehicles and specialist equipment. Diagnose electrical, mechanical and system faults using modern diagnostic equipment and technical manuals. Undertake thorough inspections of accident-damaged vehicles and provide accurate reports to support repairs. Complete preventative maintenance and repairs in line with manufacturer recommendations and safe working procedures. Ensure accurate completion of service, inspection and repair documentation. Aim to achieve a first-time fix while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service. Work independently to prioritise workload and meet deadlines, while supporting colleagues and other departments where required. About You City & Guilds Level 3 in Vehicle Mechanical and Electronic Systems - Maintenance & Repair, or an equivalent qualification. Substantial experience in auto-electrical fault finding and repair. Experience working with heavy goods vehicles, distribution vehicles or specialist vehicles/equipment. Strong knowledge of modern vehicle diagnostic systems and electronic diagnostic equipment. Good understanding of relevant road traffic legislation, including vehicle weight restrictions and drivers' hours. Full, valid driving licence. Able to work under pressure, manage your own workload and meet tight deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive approach to problem solving.
