Location: Belfast
I am currently working with a well-established law firm in Belfast who are looking to add a Paralegal to their busy Litigation team. This is a great opportunity for a Paralegal with experience in personal injury and litigation, particularly someone with exposure to Road Traffic Accident (RTA) claims and Credit Hire matters. The role will also involve some Employer's Liability and workplace accident claims, giving you the opportunity to broaden your experience across a varied litigation caseload.
You will join an established team with a strong focus on personal injury litigation, working closely with experienced solicitors and playing an important role in progressing matters from initial instruction through to settlement and, where required, litigation. It is a hands-on role that would suit someone looking to build on their existing experience and take the next step in their legal career.
The Role
- Your caseload will be predominantly focused on personal injury litigation, with particular exposure to:
- Road Traffic Accident claims
- Credit Hire claims and associated vehicle damage matters
- Employer's Liability and workplace accident claims
- General personal injury litigation and case progression
- Conducting legal research and reviewing evidence
- Gathering and reviewing medical records and supporting documentation
- Drafting correspondence and legal documentation
- Preparing court documents, case bundles and schedules
- Liaising with clients, insurers, opposing solicitors, barristers, medical experts and other third parties
- Assisting solicitors with case preparation and hearing preparation
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case files and providing regular client updates
You will have the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility within a busy team while continuing to develop your practical litigation skills.
About You
I am keen to speak with Paralegals who have previous experience in litigation or personal injury, ideally with exposure to RTA and/or Credit Hire claims. You may already be working in a similar role and looking for a new challenge, or be at an earlier stage of your career and keen to develop your litigation experience further.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience within a litigation or personal injury team
- Experience handling or assisting with RTA claims
- Credit Hire experience would be highly advantageous
- Exposure to Employer's Liability or workplace accident claims would be beneficial
- Strong drafting and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to manage a busy caseload and work to deadlines
- A professional and client-focused approach
- The confidence to liaise with clients, insurers, experts and other legal professionals
- A genuine interest in developing a career within litigation and personal injury
Candidates with a strong foundation in litigation who are keen to develop their experience in RTA, Credit Hire and Employer's Liability work will also be considered.
The Opportunity
I think this is a particularly good opportunity for a Paralegal looking to build on their existing litigation experience within an established team. You will gain hands-on exposure to a varied caseload, work closely with experienced solicitors and develop your knowledge across RTA, Credit Hire and Employer's Liability matters.
