Company Overview Our client is a well-established and growing independent commercial insurance brokerage based in Belfast, providing tailored insurance and risk management solutions to businesses across Northern Ireland and Great Britain. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Insurance Broker Team Leader to join their team and take responsibility for supporting the day-to-day performance of the broking function while continuing to manage and service a portfolio of commercial clients. Role Purpose The Insurance Broker Team Leader will provide technical and operational leadership to a team of commercial brokers, while remaining hands-on with clients, renewals and placements. You will work closely with Account Executives, brokers and insurers to ensure risks are placed effectively, clients receive a high level of service and the team operates efficiently. Key Responsibilities Lead, support and develop a team of commercial insurance brokers. Manage and service a portfolio of commercial and corporate clients. Oversee renewals, new business enquiries and insurance placements. Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers to secure competitive terms for clients. Provide technical guidance and support to the wider broking team. Review quotations, policies and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance. Support brokers with complex risks, negotiations and placement strategy. Attend client and insurer meetings where required, providing technical expertise and market insight. Monitor team workloads, performance and service levels to ensure deadlines are met. Identify opportunities to improve internal broking processes and efficiency. Support the onboarding and development of new team members. Work closely with senior management to support the continued growth of the broking function. Essential Criteria Strong experience within commercial insurance broking. Previous experience at Senior Broker, Team Leader or similar level. Strong technical knowledge across commercial insurance products and placements. Experience managing or mentoring colleagues within a brokerage environment. Strong client and insurer relationship management skills. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple renewals, enquiries and placements. Strong communication skills and a commercial approach to client servicing. Desirable Cert CII qualified or working towards Dip CII/ACII. Established relationships with insurers across Northern Ireland and the UK. Experience handling more complex commercial or corporate risks.
