We're working in partnership with a well-established, market-leading FMCG and supply chain organisation to appoint an HR Officer on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, high-volume environment where no two days are the same. Whether you're a Senior HR Administrator ready to step up, an HR Coordinator looking for greater responsibility, or an experienced HR Officer keen to broaden your operational exposure, this role offers genuine development within a supportive and experienced HR team.

Please note: This is a predominantly site-based role, with four days onsite each week and regular travel across Belfast locations.

The Opportunity

As HR Officer, you will partner closely with site management teams and an experienced HR Business Partner function, delivering comprehensive, hands-on HR support across multiple operational sites. You'll gain exposure across the full employee lifecycle while building your employee relations capability in a fast-paced, unionised environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage HR administration across the full employee lifecycle - recruitment, onboarding, contractual changes, payroll liaison, probation, absence, and leavers
  • Provide first-line HR advice to managers and employees on policies, procedures, and best practice
  • Support employee relations cases including investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes (with guidance from senior HR colleagues)
  • Assist with performance and absence management processes
  • Maintain accurate HR records and reporting, including KPIs and compliance documentation
  • Coordinate training activities, conduct training needs analysis, and support learning initiatives
  • Contribute to employee engagement and communication initiatives across sites
  • Support continuous improvement and HR projects as required
  • Build strong working relationships with operational leaders and key stakeholders
About You

You are practical, organised, and confident operating in a busy environment. You enjoy working closely with managers, providing pragmatic HR support, and being visible on site.

Essential Criteria
  • Third-level qualification in HR, Business, or related discipline
  • CIPD qualified or currently working towards qualification
  • Experience within an HR Administration, HR Coordinator, or HR Officer role
  • Exposure to employee relations processes
  • Working knowledge of employment legislation
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and build relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving setting
  • Full driving licence and flexibility to travel between Belfast sites
  • Flexibility to attend occasional night-shift meetings
Desirable
  • Experience within FMCG, manufacturing, logistics, or retail
  • Experience working in a unionised environment
