We are working in partnership with a leading, highly successful manufacturing business to recruit a Facilities Technician to join their engineering team in Lisburn. The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance & Facilities Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of all site facilities, minimising downtime and supporting overall operational efficiency. You will be responsible for both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across buildings, utilities, and site services.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across all company facilities and utilities
- Perform routine maintenance on systems including HVAC, compressors, fire alarms, emergency lighting, plumbing and electrical systems
- Complete maintenance records accurately in line with H&S and ISO requirements
- Conduct regular health & safety inspections and implement corrective actions
- Liaise with and supervise external contractors on site
- Maintain adequate stock of spare parts and components
- Carry out minor mechanical, electrical, plumbing and joinery repairs
- Support installation work and site modifications as required
- Perform PAT testing and basic electrical installations
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance processes
- Travel occasionally to other UK sites (Birmingham & Huddersfield)
The Person
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Time served electrician qualification (17th or 18th Edition)
- Experience working in a facilities or maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong all-round maintenance skills (electrical, plumbing, general building repairs)
- PAT testing experience
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Desirable:
- Mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ/ONC/OND or similar)
- Experience in inspections and testing
