Working within an experienced finance team, the successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities while supporting key financial and operational objectives.

About You Previous experience working in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.

Strong understanding of general accounting principles and month-end processes.

Experience preparing journals, reconciliations and supporting management accounts.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and confident using ERP or accounting systems.

Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.

Positive, proactive approach with a willingness to learn and continuously improve.

What You'll Do Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.

Prepare and post journals including accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments.

Complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and resolve outstanding items.

Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to support business performance.

Monitor cash flow, prepare payment runs and support treasury activities where required.

Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals and depreciation.

Assist with VAT returns, statutory reporting and year-end audit preparation.

Ensure financial records are maintained accurately and in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

Liaise with operational and commercial stakeholders to provide financial support and reporting.

Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting efficiencies.

Support the wider finance team with ad hoc projects and business initiatives as required.
