Working closely with the Company Accountant and Finance Partner, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the firm's day-to-day financial operations while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
About you
- Previous experience as a Bookkeeper, Legal Cashier or in a similar finance role
- Experience working within a legal practice is desirable, with an understanding of client accounts and legal finance processes
- Relevant accounting or bookkeeping qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Professional, trustworthy and able to handle confidential financial information with discretion
What you'll do
- Process daily bank transactions and perform bank and client account reconciliations
- Maintain accurate client and office ledgers in line with legal accounting procedures
- Process receipts, payments and transfers, ensuring compliance with internal controls
- Assist with legal billing, fee invoicing and disbursement processing
- Process supplier invoices, creditor reconciliations and expense claims
- Support month-end and year-end finance processes, including reconciliations and reporting
- Assist with audit requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory and accounting standards
- Support the wider finance team with day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration
